West Coast Sewing Co is a new Canadian baby carrier company that makes beautiful, double sided ring slings. I’m always on the lookout for what’s up and coming in the babywearing world, so when I came across these stunning baby slings, I couldn’t wait to try one out!
What I Love About West Coast Sewing Co Ring Slings
Fabric Options:
The main draw of these slings is their double layered design. One side is a soft, 100% organic cotton twill with a pattern printed on it, one side is a strong 100% linen* in a complementary, solid color. The two layers of thin fabric make for a thin yet strong baby sling, with the softness of cotton and support of linen.
They currently have 5 colourways available and each one is unique and breathtaking. It is fully reversible, so you show whichever side you'd prefer, depending on your occasion. Both sides were soft right out of the box, but a quick wash, dry and steam iron made it even softer and more moldable. Each layer of fabric is quite thin, but together they are incredibly soft and supported. The added thickness of having two layers makes it slightly harder for beginners to adjust through the rings, but the fabric should break in and become even easier to use as time goes on.
If you prefer a thinner sling, I believe they have a single layer linen sling, with a decorative piece of printed cotton near the bottom, so it’s thinner, lighter and easier for a beginner to use.
Sizing
These slings are 76 inches/193 cm, which is plenty of length for wearers of all sizes and wearees of all ages to get a good fit. One lovely feature of this company is that they also offer custom sizing on request, if you like the look of a shorter end piece/tail or prefer a bit more length.

Weight Range
This sling is tested for babies from 8 to 35 lbs. It suitable for full term newborns and will be super cuddly with a squishy new baby. It can be used through toddlerhood, and the linen layer means it will continue to feel supportive as your baby grows. I love using this sling with both my 9 month old and 2.5 year old.
