Avie is passionate about fostering connection through the written word. Her writing ranges from informative parenting articles to personal essays and poetry.

Her writing has appeared in Today’s Parent, The Forward and Kveller and she was a finalist for the Janice Colbert Poetry Award.

Avie earned an BA in English from Yeshiva University, where she graduated with honours and won the English Department Creative Writing Award. She holds a Certificate in Creative Writing from University of Toronto.

She is also trained as a postpartum & infant care doula, babywearing educator, and infant feeding specialist.

Avie is currently working on her first book of poetry.
